Tuscan Villa Copper Backsplash — Hand-Hammered Italian Landscape Wall Art
The Tuscan landscape is one of the most painted and most immediately recognized landscapes in Western art. The villa on the hill, the cypress trees standing like sentinels along the road, the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia stretching to the horizon — this is the landscape that every painter from the Renaissance to the Impressionists returned to because it is the most compositionally complete and most humanly scaled landscape in Europe. This panel puts that landscape on the wall — in copper, where it will stay.
A hand-hammered copper backsplash and wall art piece of a Tuscan villa — the traditional stone farmhouse surrounded by cypress trees, the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside filling the background, the whole composition rendered in dimensional copper relief, built up from a flat copper sheet one hammer stroke at a time by our family using traditional chasing and repoussé techniques passed through generations. The villa, the cypress, and the hills are the composition: the architecture in the foreground, the trees framing it, the landscape completing the horizon. Available in all 15 finishes. Over 10,000 pieces made.
The Tuscan farmhouse — the casa colonica, the podere, the fattoria — is the defining domestic architecture of the Italian countryside. Built from local stone, roofed in terracotta, surrounded by the cypress trees that mark property boundaries and frame views across the valley — the Tuscan farmhouse has been the subject of painters from Leonardo da Vinci (who grew up in the Val d’Arno) to Corot, from the Macchiaioli to the American painters who came to Tuscany in the 19th century and never left. The cypress tree (Cupressus sempervirens) — the Italian cypress, the Mediterranean cypress — has been planted beside Italian farmhouses and along Italian roads since the Etruscan civilization. This panel captures the landscape that has defined the idea of the good life in the Western imagination for five hundred years.
What Can You Order With This Design?

Custom Sizes & Layouts
Custom Sizes & Layouts
Every backsplash is made specifically for your kitchen.
Order a single backsplash behind the stove, matching side panels beneath your cabinets, or a complete kitchen backsplash designed for your full layout.
Outlets, switches, pot fillers, windows, vents, and other cutouts can usually be incorporated into the design.
If your exact size is not listed, simply send us your approximate width × height after ordering. We usually add custom sizes quickly.
For the best fit, measure the finished opening and subtract approximately ⅛ inch from each side. This small installation allowance is normally unnoticeable and helps create an easier installation and professional result.
