This is a custom copper wall panel. 24-gauge copper is hand-hammered on an anvil in raised repoussé relief, then wrapped over a rigid backing. The ordered finish is applied, followed by a clear protective coating. The finished panel arrives approximately 1/4″ thick — the same profile as standard wall tile, but significantly lighter — ready to install.

The subject: a California quail family in a grassy meadow. The male stands at the center — his forward-curving topknot plume the first thing the eye finds. Scaled breast feathers and layered wing details rendered in fine repoussé relief. The female stands nearby, balancing the composition. Four small chicks move through the grasses around their parents, distributed naturally across the foreground. Tall meadow grasses and seed-bearing plants rise on both sides, framing the family without crowding it. Every feather, every seed head, every blade of grass raised individually from the copper surface by hand, using chasing and repoussé — one of the oldest metalworking traditions in the world. The artwork is not printed, stamped, laser engraved, or cast. Each panel is a genuine handmade copper relief that changes with the light throughout the day.

For the best fit, measure the finished opening and subtract approximately ⅛ inch from each side. This small installation allowance is normally unnoticeable and helps create an easier installation and professional result.
