Magpie & Blossom Branch Copper Backsplash — Hand-Hammered Wall Art
Two magpies — the bird that stops you in your tracks. One perched on the right, facing left, the long tail extending downward in layered feathers; the second mid-motion on the center-left, wings tucked, body angled forward as if just landing, its tail sweeping across the composition. The branch runs horizontally and diagonally across the panel: flowering on the right side where the perched bird sits — small blossoms and leaves surrounding it — and barer, thinner on the left where the second bird moves. The tails are the design. Long, patterned, unmistakably magpie — they cross the panel and give the composition its movement and its drama. Hand-hammered in raised copper relief: the tail feathers reading in layered detail, the blossoms in fine clustered relief, the whole panel alive with the energy of two magpies caught mid-story.
Hand-hammered from flat copper sheet in our family workshop. Every feather, every blossom, every flowing tail formed by hand. Made to your exact dimensions. 15 finishes. Over 10,000 pieces installed.

The Full Kitchen Wall
This panel centered behind the stove — the branch and the two magpies reading across the full width of the panel. Side panels don’t repeat the birds. We design what belongs beside it: a continuation of the flowering branch, a blossom field, a leaf pattern that lets the magpies breathe at the center. One unified wall, designed as a whole, shown to you as a mockup before anything is made.
Send us your wall dimensions or a photo of your kitchen and we’ll design the full set.
What Else Could Go in This Space
The magpie buyer is drawn to elegance, movement, and the decorative tradition of Asian and botanical art. Here’s what that home looks like — these are examples of the kind of designs we’d create, not a fixed menu. Your version gets designed for your space.
Sink wall — imagine a cherry blossom branch panel behind the sink — a single branch in full bloom, no birds, the blossoms filling the panel. The flowering branch behind the sink, the magpies behind the stove. The kitchen shares a world.
Above the fireplace — imagine a large crane panel above the mantle — two Japanese cranes facing each other, wings partially open, the most elegant birds in the decorative tradition. The fireplace wall carries the same love of birds in a more formal, symmetrical form.
Bedroom — imagine a single peacock panel centered on the headboard wall — tail fully fanned, the most dramatic bird composition in the catalog. The bedroom has the most spectacular design in the house.
Entryway — imagine a pair of magpies on a branch panel beside the front door — smaller, more intimate than the kitchen panel, the same flowing tails. The house greets everyone with movement and elegance.
Bathroom — imagine a single blossom branch running the full length of the vanity — one branch, a few blooms, the rest open space. The most minimal piece in the house. The most refined.
Send us photos of any space and tell us what you have in mind. We’ll take it from there.

Installation & Care
Installation & Care
Installation — three methods:
- Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
- Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
- Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.
For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.
Care:
Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
