Custom copper kitchen backsplash featuring a hand-hammered jellyfish in raised copper relief. Elegant, fluid, and quietly mesmerizing, this design captures the graceful movement of ocean life and transforms it into a striking piece of functional art.

Crafted from 24-gauge real copper and wrapped over a rigid backing, each panel is individually formed by hand using traditional metalworking techniques. The finished backsplash is approximately 1/4" thick, comparable to standard wall tile, while remaining lightweight and simple to install.

At the center of the design, a jellyfish drifts through gently rolling ocean currents. Its rounded bell rises above flowing tentacles that move effortlessly through the water, creating a sense of rhythm and motion across the entire composition. The sweeping waves below balance the vertical form of the jellyfish, producing a design that feels both calming and visually dramatic.

The artwork is intentionally refined rather than crowded. The simplicity allows the sculpted copper surfaces to take center stage, creating changing highlights and shadows that bring the design to life as natural and artificial light move throughout the day.

Every visible detail is individually shaped into the metal by hand, including the bell, flowing tentacles, ocean currents, and hammered background texture. The dimensional relief creates depth and character that flat artwork cannot achieve.

Installation is straightforward. Panels can be mounted directly over drywall, wood, stone, brick, metal, or existing tile using suitable adhesive, silicone, or mechanical fasteners. A hanging-wire option is also available for decorative wall display. Each panel is sealed with a clear protective coating that helps preserve the finish while making routine cleaning easy. Everyday cooking splashes can be wiped away with a soft cloth, warm water, and mild dish soap.

Available finishes include natural copper, aged copper patinas, silver-toned finishes, brass-toned finishes, black-accented finishes, and mixed-metal combinations, allowing the design to complement a wide variety of interiors.

Step 1 — Digital preview: We send a preview of your panel for approval before anything is made. Production begins only after your written confirmation.

Step 2 — Production: Your panel is hand-hammered to your exact specifications. Approximately 3 weeks.

Step 3 — Pre-shipping photos: Once complete, we send photos of the finished panel. Shipping takes place only after your approval. Adjustments can still be made at this stage.

Step 4 — Delivery: Ships via FedEx with tracking. Delivered to your door within one month from order date.

Material & Specs

Every Natuross® panel is real copper or brass — 24 gauge, hand-hammered, mounted over a rigid aluminum composite backing. Approximately ¼ inch (6mm) thick, flush to the wall. Weight: approximately 2.1 lb per square foot.

Sealed with a professional-grade UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, and grease resistant. Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, wet areas, fireplaces, and outdoor installations. No maintenance ever required.

Installation & Care

Installation — three methods:

Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.

For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.

Care:

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
