Custom copper kitchen backsplash featuring a hand-hammered jaguar surrounded by tropical rainforest foliage in raised copper relief. Richly detailed and visually commanding, this design brings the atmosphere of an exotic jungle retreat into the kitchen.

Handcrafted from 24-gauge solid copper and wrapped over a rigid backing, each panel is individually shaped by hand using traditional repoussé and chasing techniques. The finished piece is approximately 1/4 inch thick, comparable to wall tile, yet light enough for straightforward installation.

A powerful jaguar emerges from dense tropical vegetation, its gaze fixed directly forward. Large monstera leaves, climbing vines, broad jungle foliage, and flowing organic forms surround the animal, creating a layered rainforest composition filled with texture and movement. The jaguar's distinctive rosette markings, sculpted muzzle, intense eyes, and broad head become the natural focal point of the design, drawing attention from across the room.

Unlike wildlife scenes that focus on action, this artwork captures presence. The jaguar is not hunting or running. It simply watches. The result feels confident, mysterious, and quietly powerful. The surrounding foliage softens the composition while reinforcing the lush tropical setting.

Every element is physically raised from the copper sheet by hand. The spotted coat, facial contours, whiskers, tropical leaves, vines, foreground roots, and hammered background are formed directly into the metal itself. As light changes throughout the day, the relief reveals new highlights and shadows that bring the artwork to life.

The panel is sealed with a durable clear protective coating that helps preserve the finish while making routine cleaning simple. Cooking splashes and everyday residue wipe away easily with a soft cloth, warm water, and mild dish soap.

Installation options include adhesive mounting, screw mounting, or decorative hanging hardware. Panels may be installed over drywall, existing tile, wood, stone, brick, or metal surfaces.

Available in natural copper, aged patinas, silver finishes, brass finishes, black-accented finishes, and mixed-metal variations.

Step 1 — Digital preview: We send a preview of your panel for approval before anything is made. Production begins only after your written confirmation.

Step 2 — Production: Your panel is hand-hammered to your exact specifications. Approximately 3 weeks.

Step 3 — Pre-shipping photos: Once complete, we send photos of the finished panel. Shipping takes place only after your approval. Adjustments can still be made at this stage.

Step 4 — Delivery: Ships via FedEx with tracking. Delivered to your door within one month from order date.

Material & Specs

Every Natuross® panel is real copper or brass — 24 gauge, hand-hammered, mounted over a rigid aluminum composite backing. Approximately ¼ inch (6mm) thick, flush to the wall. Weight: approximately 2.1 lb per square foot.

Sealed with a professional-grade UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, and grease resistant. Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, wet areas, fireplaces, and outdoor installations. No maintenance ever required.

Installation & Care

Installation — three methods:

Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.

For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.

Care:

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
