A custom hand-hammered copper kitchen backsplash for a vaulted-ceiling wall, with a standing heron in sculpted relief. The heron stands in shallow water on the tall center panel, with a long neck, pointed bill, layered feathers, slender legs, and subtle water lines. Quiet hammered side panels frame the bird and give the installation enough scale for the vaulted wall without competing with it.
