Copper Cabinet Door Inserts — Hand-Hammered Kitchen & Furniture Panel Inserts
The cabinet door insert is the most architecturally integrated copper detail in the kitchen — the panel that fits into the existing frame of the cabinet door, replacing the glass or the flat panel with hand-hammered copper. Not applied to the surface, not hung on the wall — set into the door itself, flush with the frame, part of the cabinet. The detail that transforms a standard kitchen cabinet into something that could not have been bought at a showroom.
Hand-hammered copper panels designed to fit directly into cabinet doors, drawer fronts, or furniture frames — cut to your exact insert dimensions, mounted on a solid composite backing, sealed with clear lacquer, heat- and splash-resistant — built up from flat copper sheet one hammer stroke at a time by our family using traditional chasing and repoussé techniques passed through generations. Available in all 15 finishes, with any design — plain hand-hammered copper, or any embossed motif from the Natuross catalog. Over 10,000 pieces made.
The copper cabinet insert has its roots in the Arts and Crafts furniture tradition of the late 19th and early 20th century — the hammered copper panels inset into the doors of the Gustav Stickley sideboard, the Charles Rennie Mackintosh cabinet, and the Greene & Greene built-in of the American Craftsman home. In the Arts and Crafts tradition, the copper insert was the detail that distinguished the handmade piece from the machine-made piece — the mark of the craftsman’s hand in the material that the machine could not replicate. In the contemporary kitchen, the copper cabinet insert performs the same function: the detail that says this kitchen was designed, not assembled from a catalog.

Installation & Care
Installation & Care
Installation — three methods:
- Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
- Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
- Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.
For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.
Care:
Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
