Powerful, ancient, and perfectly adapted to its watery environment, it has ruled rivers, marshes, and wetlands for millions of years. This handcrafted copper backsplash captures the alligator resting quietly in shallow water beneath the warm Southern sun, creating a striking focal point filled with character and natural presence.

The design balances strength and simplicity. The alligator stretches across the scene with its distinctive armored body and powerful tail, while gentle water reflections, cattails, and marsh grasses create a calm wetland setting around it. Each panel is handcrafted from real 24-gauge copper and individually hand-hammered and hand-formed by Natuross artisans. The copper is wrapped over a rigid backing, creating a lightweight yet durable panel approximately 1/4 inch thick, similar to standard wall tile.

The side panels are designed to support the main artwork quietly, allowing the alligator to remain the dominant focal point across the entire wall.

Step 1 — Digital preview: We send a preview of your panel for approval before anything is made. Production begins only after your written confirmation.

Step 2 — Production: Your panel is hand-hammered to your exact specifications. Approximately 3 weeks.

Step 3 — Pre-shipping photos: Once complete, we send photos of the finished panel. Shipping takes place only after your approval. Adjustments can still be made at this stage.

Step 4 — Delivery: Ships via FedEx with tracking. Delivered to your door within one month from order date.

Material & Specs

Every Natuross® panel is real copper or brass — 24 gauge, hand-hammered, mounted over a rigid aluminum composite backing. Approximately ¼ inch (6mm) thick, flush to the wall. Weight: approximately 2.1 lb per square foot.

Sealed with a professional-grade UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, and grease resistant. Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, wet areas, fireplaces, and outdoor installations. No maintenance ever required.

Installation & Care

Installation — three methods:

Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.

For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.

Care:

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
