Copper Sauna Wall Panels, Birch Forest Feature Walls & Signs — Custom Made

Natuross makes hand-hammered copper feature walls, birch forest panels, bench back panels, entrance walls, and signs for home saunas. The most considered sauna decor available — every piece an original work, designed for your specific space, made to your exact dimensions, in any of 15 finishes. Over 10,000 custom copper projects installed across the US.

Copper has a melting point of 1,985°F — far above the maximum temperature of any residential sauna. It has been used in boilers, distilleries, and high-heat industrial applications for centuries. The copper panel in a sauna is not a decorative addition. It is a material that belongs in the heat.

Copper in the Sauna — What You Need to Know

Traditional Finnish saunas operate between 158°F and 212°F. Infrared saunas operate between 113°F and 140°F. Copper handles both with complete ease. Panels are best placed on the walls rather than directly above the kiuas — the sauna stove — where radiant heat is most intense. Every sauna installation is discussed before production to confirm the right placement and finish for your specific setup.

For saunas where a natural patina is preferred — the rich brown of aged copper, the green of weathered copper — panels can be supplied without lacquer, allowing the heat and humidity of the sauna to develop a natural patina over time. The patina of a copper panel in a sauna is one of the most beautiful material transformations available — the copper aging with the sauna, the surface becoming more beautiful with every session.

Feature Wall

The wall the bather faces from the bench — the surface that accompanies every session, the surface that defines the character of the entire sauna. A single panel, a full wall from floor to ceiling, a bench back wall panel — the most intimate sauna surface, the copper the bather is closest to — or a sauna entrance wall panel.

A large-format birch forest — the birch trees of the Nordic sauna tradition, the white trunks, the leaves, the light through the forest. A pine forest — the forest of the Finnish sauna tradition. A Nordic lake — the still water that follows the sauna. A fire composition — the flame, the ember, the heat. A stone composition — the sauna stones, the kiuas, the steam rising. A simple hammered texture in a warm finish — the copper speaking through the material alone.

Changing Room & Cold Plunge

A changing room feature wall panel — the Nordic landscape in the transition space. A changing room mirror frame with a birch tree border. A cold plunge feature wall panel — a water composition, a Nordic lake, a cool Silver or Silver–Copper finish beside the cold water. A cold plunge pool surround panel — the copper framing the pool, warm against the cold water.

Wall Art & Sculptures

A birch tree panel — the single trunk rising the full height of the panel, or a birch grove with the light between the trees. A pine forest panel. A Nordic lake panel. A fire panel. Sauna stones in three-dimensional copper. A birch branch sculpture — the tool of the sauna ritual made permanent in copper. Made to any size, designed for this sauna.

Sauna Signs

The sauna’s name. A Finnish word — Löyly, Kiuas, Sisu. The founding year. A sauna philosophy. Nordic wisdom. A do not disturb sign. Sauna rules. A temperature sign. See all sign types on the Copper Signs & Plaques page.

"The [Family Name] Sauna" · "Löyly" · "Sisu" · "Est. [Year]" · "In the sauna, all men are equal." · "Heat. Steam. Silence." · "Löyly in Progress" · "Shower before entering."

"The birch forest panel changed the entire sauna. Every session, I sit before the birch trees and the heat feels different — more elemental, more considered, more like the real thing. The copper makes the home sauna feel like a Nordic spa. The ritual feels complete." — Natuross customer
