How to Install a Copper Panel — Three Methods Explained
IBRAHIM GULSUNShare
Every Natuross panel arrives ready to install. The aluminum composite backing is rigid, flat, and will not warp. The copper surface is sealed with a professional-grade UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, and grease resistant from day one. No additional preparation is needed before installation.
Three installation methods are available. You select your preferred method when placing the order, and the panel is prepared accordingly before shipping. Most customers complete installation in under an hour.
Panel Specifications
- Metal: Real copper or brass, 24 gauge, hand-hammered
- Thickness: ¼ inch (6mm) — mounts flush to the wall, similar to a ceramic tile
- Weight: ~2.1 lb/ft² — a 36×30" panel weighs ~16 lb, a 48×36" ~25 lb, a 60×38" ~33 lb. Easy for one person to handle.
- Finish: Sealed with UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, grease, and fingerprint resistant
- Suitable for: Indoor, outdoor, kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, and high-humidity areas
Method 1: Adhesive Mount — Most Popular
Best for: Kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, and permanent installations on tile, drywall, wood, stone, or metal.
The easiest option and how most customers install their panels. Stick directly over existing tiles, drywall, wood, stone, or metal using any standard construction adhesive — Liquid Nails, silicone, or MS-polymer all work. No special products needed. For new walls, panels can also be set with thinset just like regular wall tiles.
- Make sure the wall surface is clean and dry.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the panel only — never to the decorative front.
- Press firmly into place and check for level.
- Allow adhesive to cure fully before cleaning or use.
This method works in 90% of cases and produces a flush, seamless result with no visible hardware.
Method 2: Screw Mount — Maximum Strength
Best for: Very large or heavy panels, outdoor installations, fireplaces, and stone or brick walls.
Your panel ships with pre-drilled holes, screws, and matching decorative copper-colored screw caps included.
- Hold the panel in position and mark the hole locations on the wall.
- Drill pilot holes and insert the appropriate wall anchors if needed (drywall, masonry, or tile — your local hardware store can advise on anchor type).
- Drive the included screws through the pre-drilled holes in the panel.
- Snap the included decorative caps over the screw heads for a clean finish.
Use a level before marking the drill points to ensure perfect alignment.
Method 3: Hanging Wire — Decorative and Removable
Best for: Wall art panels, family name signs, address plaques, and any installation where you want the panel to be easily removable or repositioned.
D-rings and hanging wire are pre-attached to the back of the panel. Install hooks or nails on the wall at the correct spacing, hang the panel by its wire, and adjust until level.
- Install hooks or nails on the wall at the correct spacing for your panel size.
- Hang the panel by its attached wire or D-rings.
- Adjust until level.

Multi-Piece Panels
Panels larger than 77×38 inches ship as multiple pieces — a central focal piece plus surrounding border or frame pieces. The main design element (tree, animal, medallion, etc.) is always kept intact as a single piece. Seams fall at natural design breaks, never through the main subject.
Always install the central piece first, then add the surrounding border or frame pieces around it. This ensures the focal point is perfectly positioned before the borders are locked in.
