How Is a Copper Backsplash Packaged for Shipping?

IBRAHIM GULSUN

A hand-hammered copper panel is a precision-made object with a detailed relief surface. Getting it from the workshop to your kitchen without damage requires packaging that is as carefully designed as the panel itself. Natuross developed a custom shipping box specifically for copper backsplashes — and shipping damage is something that almost never happens.

A Box Designed for Copper Panels

Standard shipping boxes are designed for generic cargo. A copper backsplash panel is not generic cargo — it is a rigid, flat, hand-finished metal object with a detailed relief surface that can be marked by pressure or impact. Natuross developed a custom shipping box built specifically for the dimensions and requirements of copper panels: hard, sturdy corrugated cardboard construction with internal supports that hold the panel securely in position and external reinforcement that protects the corners and edges where shipping damage most commonly occurs.

The panel does not move inside the box. It does not flex. It does not contact the box walls directly. The packaging system is the result of shipping thousands of panels and learning exactly where the vulnerabilities are — and eliminating them.

Protection Inside and Out

The copper surface is protected on the inside of the box with soft protective material that cushions the relief surface without marking it. The aluminum composite backing is supported so the panel cannot flex or bow during transit. The box exterior is reinforced at the corners and edges — the points most likely to take impact during handling — so that even rough handling by the carrier does not reach the panel inside.

The result is a package that looks like it has been through a journey when it arrives — because it has — but opens to reveal a panel in exactly the condition it left the workshop.

Why Shipping Damage Almost Never Happens

Most shipping damage to fragile items happens because the packaging was not designed for the specific object inside it — a generic box, insufficient cushioning, a panel that can shift or flex in transit. The Natuross packaging eliminates all of these failure points. The box is the right size for the panel. The panel cannot move. The surface is protected. The corners are reinforced.

After thousands of panels shipped across the United States, shipping damage remains an extremely rare event. The packaging works because it was designed specifically for this product, refined over years of real-world shipping experience.

If Damage Does Occur

In the rare event that a panel arrives with shipping damage, document it immediately with photographs before unpacking fully, and contact Ibrahim via live chat or the contact page. A replacement panel will be made and shipped at no charge. The photographs are needed to file a claim with the carrier and to confirm the nature of the damage before the replacement is produced.

Do not discard the original packaging if damage is present — the carrier may require inspection of the packaging as part of the claims process.
