This copper side extension backsplash is made when a main copper backsplash needs extra coverage to the left, right, or both sides. It works beside stove panels, sink panels, range backsplashes, coffee bars, pantry counters, appliance areas, and under-cabinet runs where the copper should continue beyond the main focal piece.

A side extension is different from a side return. A side return turns onto a perpendicular wall. A side extension continues along the same wall, extending the backsplash horizontally so the copper does not stop too soon. This is useful when the main panel looks beautiful, but the surrounding wall also needs matching copper coverage.

Some kitchens need one side extension beside an existing or new backsplash. Others need left and right extensions around a center feature, such as a stove, sink, window, hood, or open shelf area. The extension panels can be made with matching texture, border details, or a simpler continuation design so the whole wall feels planned.

Choose an extension-only panel when you already have a main backsplash or plan to order it separately. Choose a center feature plus side extensions when you want one coordinated set. If your exact extension size is not listed, message the center panel size, the left and right side measurements, and the total wall area. We can add your exact side extension layout as a new order option with the correct price.

Larger layouts can be made as coordinated multi-panel sets. When a design needs more than one panel, the main artwork or center feature is kept visually intact whenever possible, with matching extension panels added around it so the finished backsplash feels like one planned copper installation.

Cutouts and layout adjustments are available for outlets, switches, faucets, pot fillers, shelf brackets, window trim, hood areas, cabinet edges, appliance clearances, and uneven wall sections. We create a digital preview for your approval before production begins.

Step 1 — Digital preview: We send a preview of your panel for approval before anything is made. Production begins only after your written confirmation.

Step 2 — Production: Your panel is hand-hammered to your exact specifications. Approximately 3 weeks.

Step 3 — Pre-shipping photos: Once complete, we send photos of the finished panel. Shipping takes place only after your approval. Adjustments can still be made at this stage.

Step 4 — Delivery: Ships via FedEx with tracking. Delivered to your door within one month from order date.

Material & Specs

Every Natuross® panel is real copper or brass — 24 gauge, hand-hammered, mounted over a rigid aluminum composite backing. Approximately ¼ inch (6mm) thick, flush to the wall. Weight: approximately 2.1 lb per square foot.

Sealed with a professional-grade UV-resistant lacquer — water, heat, and grease resistant. Suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, wet areas, fireplaces, and outdoor installations. No maintenance ever required.

Installation & Care

Installation — three methods:

  • Adhesive — stick directly over existing tile, drywall, wood, or stone using any standard construction adhesive. Most popular method. Most customers install in under an hour.
  • Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
  • Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.

For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.

Care:

Wipe with a soft damp cloth. For grease or cooking splashes, warm water and mild dish soap. No polishing, waxing, or re-sealing — ever. The finish you receive is the finish it keeps.
