Antelope Copper Panel — Hand-Hammered African & Wildlife Wall Art

The Pronghorn can run at 55 mph for miles. It is the second fastest land animal on earth. It evolved to outrun a predator that has been extinct for 10,000 years — the American cheetah.

A copper wall panel of the antelope — the spiraled or lyre-shaped horns, the slender athletic form, the large dark eyes of the most graceful and most elegantly horned of the grassland animals — hand-hammered in real copper sheet by our family using traditional chasing and repoussé techniques passed through generations. The spiraled horns and the slender athletic form are the composition: those elegant horns rendered in dimensional metalwork, the slender legs and alert posture built up in fine relief, the watchful poise of an animal that has been perfecting the art of beautiful survival for 25 million years. In Natural Copper or Brown Copper, the warm tawny tones echo the most iconic antelope species. Every curve of the horn, every detail a separate hammer stroke, thousands of them. Over 10,000 pieces made.

There are over 90 species of antelope — from the tiny Royal Antelope of West Africa (10 inches tall, the smallest ungulate on earth) to the Giant Eland (the largest antelope, weighing up to 2,000 pounds). The Springbok of South Africa performs “pronking” — leaping straight up to 13 feet in the air with an arched back — a behavior that signals fitness to predators and may trigger the entire herd. The Blackbuck of India was the sacred animal of the Hindu god Vayu and appears in the Vedic texts. The Gemsbok of the Kalahari can survive without drinking water for weeks — obtaining all moisture from the plants it eats. The antelope appears on the coats of arms of South Africa, Tanzania, and dozens of other nations. The most diverse, most globally distributed, and most heraldically represented family of horned mammals on earth.

Which Antelope Is Your Antelope?

The antelope panel shown is our classic design. But every antelope buyer has their antelope — and we can render any species in copper relief with the same hand-hammered precision.

Springbok — the national animal of South Africa, the pronking leaper, the most recognizable antelope in Southern Africa. The antelope of the Springboks rugby team.
Gazelle — the most elegant and most widely recognized antelope of the African savanna and the Middle East. The Thomson’s Gazelle, the Grant’s Gazelle, the Dorcas Gazelle.
Pronghorn — the second fastest land animal on earth, the antelope of the American West. The animal that still runs at 55 mph for a predator that has been extinct for 10,000 years.
Gemsbok / Oryx — the long straight horns, the bold black-and-white face markings, the antelope of the Kalahari and the Arabian desert. The national animal of Namibia.
Kudu — the magnificent spiral horns of the Greater Kudu — the most sculpturally dramatic horn in the antelope family. The antelope of the East African bush.
Impala — the most abundant antelope in Africa, the lyre-horned leaper of the savanna. The antelope that can jump 10 feet high and 33 feet long in a single bound.

④ Custom or personalized design — reach out
A specific species — Springbok, Gazelle, Pronghorn, Gemsbok, Kudu, Impala, Blackbuck, Eland, Sable Antelope — an antelope herd in full migration across the savanna, a Springbok mid-pronk, a Kudu bull with full spiral horns in a bush scene, a Pronghorn in an American West landscape — or a completely different elegant horned animal: ibex, chamois, or anything that matters to you. Or a personalized panel: your family name designed as a full copper composition, with the antelope as guardian, in the same finish. Not a sign — a piece of art that carries your name. Same process, completely custom. Just reach out.

Complete the Look

A copper panel above your fireplace. The antelope, larger, horns spanning above the mantel. The most graceful and most elegantly horned focal point in the African range — the animal that has been perfecting the art of beautiful survival for 25 million years, at full scale in copper, above the fire.

Your family name in copper. Not a sign — a designed panel. Your surname hand-hammered in relief, with the antelope as guardian, in the same finish as the main panel. It goes by the front door or above the entryway. Every person who enters sees it first.

A living room or dining room panel. A coordinated African wildlife scene — a lion, a cheetah, an elephant — in the same finish as the antelope. The safari home with a consistent visual language of the African savanna and the open grassland.

A South African or rugby-inspired space. The Springbok — the national animal of South Africa and the symbol of the Springboks rugby team — in Natural Copper or Gold/Brass, above the main wall of the room that carries that identity.

If you’re thinking about more than one piece: reach out before you order. We’ll design everything together and give you project pricing for the full set.

  • African safari enthusiast, wildlife lover, or interior design home — the antelope is one of the most popular decorative motifs in African and global interior design — on the wall of a home that carries that aesthetic
  • South African, Namibian, or East African heritage home — the Springbok, the Gemsbok, the Kudu — the defining animals of Southern and East Africa — on the wall of a home that belongs to that landscape
  • American West or Pronghorn enthusiast — the second fastest land animal on earth — still running at 55 mph for a predator that has been extinct for 10,000 years — on the wall of the home that honors that extraordinary persistence
  • Natural Copper or Brown Copper — most popular finishes for the antelope — Natural Copper echoes the warm tawny-gold of the Gazelle and the Impala on the savanna, Brown Copper echoes the deep brown of the Kudu and the Eland in the bush

  • Screw mount — for large, heavy, or outdoor panels. Ships with screws and decorative caps included.
  • Hanging wire — for wall art, signs, and removable installations.

For multi-piece panels: install the central piece first, borders second.
